The soma series
A full body, comprehensive treatment over eleven sessions
The Soma Series is a deep dive, full body treatment over eleven sessions. The sessions are designed to help you connect to your core, release layers of tension, and create more clarity and ease of movement. Clients are guided in evolving their movement patterns to move more effortlessly and simply. The design of the Series is a focused, intentional, and layered system that supports long lasting, if not permanent shifts.
In addition to manual therapy, the sessions may incorporate photos, drawings, journal logs, readings, and movement activities to help facilitate inner and outer body connection.
After a Series many clients report reduced/no pain, increased mobility, better posture, greater ease of movement, feeling more grounded, finding it easier to walk/run, calmer nerves, greater wellbeing, and a sense of wholeness.
Each session is about 2 hours long. It’s recommended to space the sessions around 1-2 weeks apart each, to create momentum and synergy. The spacing can flex depending on individual needs. For those who aren’t able to commit to the full series, individual sessions or a mini-series can be a great alternative.

Soma Structural Integration is a holistic form of manual therapy based in the lineage of the work developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf. It was further developed by a psychologist named Bill Williams who wove in principles of cultivating greater body-mind connection. During sessions, pressure is applied to different areas of the body to affect the fasical system with a lot of intention, care, and detail. The work can range from affecting superficial to deep layers of tissue depending on what is needed.
As a whole, Soma works by rebalancing and re-educating the fascial system. Fascia is a type of connective tissue that lines muscles, blood vessels and nerves, and provides interconnected structure for our being. When we experience stress or use the body in an imbalanced way, tension and adhesions can develop in the fascia and pull our structure out of alignment. This is often accompanied by pain and reduced mobility.
Soma works in a systematic way with the intention to rebalance and restore the body to its natural alignment. Symptoms in one area may be caused by tension in multiple other areas, and working the whole body in balance provides a way to treat root cause and create long term pain relief and change.
When the body is balanced and there is ease of movement, it reclaims more energy for living and supports greater wellbeing and health.

If it’s your first session, we'll first chat about your goals and go over health history. Then we will do a quick body reading, taking a look at alignment and movement. There will be about 90 minutes of treatment work. Depending on the treatment plan, there may be a movement activity at the end.
The whole session takes between 90-120 minutes.

Bring something to wear that is similar to what you might wear swimming. Underwear/shorts/spandex works well. For chest coverage, a tube top is preferred and provided here. A loose tank top, bralette, or swim top can also work. Bring a water bottle for post session hydration.

You may feel energized, or you may feel a little bit like you worked out after a receiving a session. If possible, having some time to be spacious and light after session is a great idea.
Hydrating, movement, going for a walk, eating a nourishing meal, journaling, and taking an epsom salt bath are all wonderful things to do after your session.

For those doing the Soma Series, a cadence of 1-2 weeks in between sessions is reccomended for the best synergy and momentum.
For general treatment and balancing, receving a session every week, month, season, or year can be a great form of preventative care and body maintenence.
For long-term chronic issues, multiple treatment sessions may be needed to see lasting shifts.
